Roof Replacement Before & After Photos

When Bonnie reached out to Vita Roofing about her over 100-year-old home in New Rockford, ND, she knew the project would require more than a simple repair; it needed a complete transformation. After a thorough, free, no-obligation estimate, the team recommended a full re-deck and roof replacement to ensure long-term protection. From the very beginning, Vita Roofing approached the job with precision, carefully setting up tarps to protect the surrounding landscaping and structures while preparing for a full tear-off down to the decking.

Once the old materials were removed, the crew conducted a detailed inspection of the decking, replacing any weakened areas to create a solid foundation. They installed Sealoron XT Deck Tape along every seam for added moisture protection, followed by an EPDM membrane system complete with bonding adhesive, screws, plates, and tapered Poly ISO foam for optimal drainage and insulation. The finishing touch was the installation of IKO Dynasty Class 3 shingles in the elegant Biscayne color, featuring impact resistance, algae protection, and enhanced durability through upgraded tar and nailing strips. Backed by the Klaus 50-year No-Leak Warranty, Bonnie can now enjoy peace of mind knowing her historic home is protected for decades to come.

Jim recently chose Vita Roofing, a Klaus Larsen Roofing affiliate, to give his home a much-needed roof replacement. Our crew began by removing the old roofing system down to the decking. Once the structure was fully exposed, we inspected every board, replacing any that were weak or rotted. This step ensured a solid, long-lasting foundation for the new roofing system.

With the decking replaced & secured, our team began installing multiple layers of protection designed to keep Jim’s home safe from the elements. We used Sealoron XT Ice and Water on all eaves and valleys for leak prevention, followed by a Synthetic Roof Underlayment. This roofing is a superior, four-layer underlayment featuring a non-woven top surface that provides excellent walkability for installers and a grip-enhanced backing that holds securely to the decking. This added layer significantly strengthens the roof system by providing an extra shield against moisture and wind-driven rain. To finish the protective barrier, we added an aluminum drip edge around the perimeter, starter shingles, updated venting, and durable flashings.

For the finishing touches, we installed Class 3 Impact Rated IKO Dynasty shingles, known for their strength against hail, wind, and extreme weather, while also enhancing Jim’s home with lasting curb appeal. At the roof’s peaks, we used IKO Hip & Ridge shingles, a heavyweight option made from a resilient, inorganic glass base coated with weather-resistant asphalt. These shingles come pre-tapered, perforated, and surfaced with ceramic-colored granules to provide long-lasting protection against ultraviolet radiation while giving the roof a clean, polished look.

After a detailed cleanup, Jim’s home was left with a beautiful, high-performance roofing system built to endure, done the right way, The Klaus Roofing Way.

Jovier decided it was time to replace his aging roof; he wanted more than just a basic upgrade. He was looking for a system that would stand strong against the elements while enhancing the look of his home. That’s when he turned to the skilled team at Vita Roofing. From the very beginning, their professionalism was clear, starting with carefully placed tarps to protect the surrounding property and ensure a clean, controlled work environment.

Once the old roofing system was fully removed down to the decking, the crew performed a thorough inspection to identify any compromised areas. Any soft or rotted decking was promptly replaced, ensuring a solid foundation for the new installation. To maximize protection, Vita Roofing installed two rows of ice and water shield along all eaves and an additional layer in the valleys, critical areas prone to leaks. The remainder of the roof was covered with high-performance synthetic underlayment, followed by a durable aluminum drip edge along the perimeter.

The highlight of the project was the installation of IKO Dynasty shingles, Class 3 impact-rated and built for long-term durability. With features like a reinforced nailing strip, upgraded tar strip, increased thickness, and built-in algae resistance, Jovier’s new roof offers both strength and lasting curb appeal. Finished with proper venting, flashing, and a clean ridge line, the project wrapped up with a meticulous cleanup—leaving Jovier with peace of mind and a roof built to last.

The project began with a full tear-off of the existing roof system down to the roof decking. Vita Roofing’s team performed a detailed inspection to locate any weak or rotten sections before replacing damaged decking materials. To provide maximum protection against water intrusion and ice dams, the installers added two rows of Ice and Water Shield along the eaves and additional protection in every valley area.
