Storm-Damaged Roof Repalcement in Grand Forks, ND | Roofing Contractor

Few homes in Grand Forks have as much character as a 1964 one-story ranch, and this one had earned its age. After years of harsh winters, heavy snow loads, and the latest round of storm damage, the roof was no longer protecting the house the way it should. The homeowners wanted a roof replacement that respected the classic look of their single-family home while bringing it up to modern standards.

Vita Roofing recommended IKO Dynasty asphalt shingles in Brownstone, a warm, earthy color that suits mid-century architecture. These architectural shingles are built with fiberglass, asphalt coatings, and strong sealants, and they resist wind, UV fading, and algae. Along the roof edges, we installed a painted white Quality Edge 2x2 steel gutter apron drip edge that blends cleanly with the trim. We also re-flashed the Velux skylight, so the natural light stays and the leaks stay out.

Older homes often need better ventilation, so we added a 12" aluminum Whirlybird BIB turbine with a 3" pipe jack. Together with proper flashing and a complete asphalt shingle roofing system, it helps the roof last longer in Grand Forks’ climate. For a home that has stood since 1964, this roof replacement adds protection and curb appeal for many more years.
