Up on the asphalt roof

During the inspection, we are checking for storm damage and compermised roof shingles. We also check for any soft spots. This usually means the decking is either rotted or has moisture damage.

Cracked shingles

We uncovered many sections of the asphalt that looked just like this shingle. Water will easily penetrate under the shingle and cause interior moisture issues if left untreated.

Checking ventilation system

These vents will have to go and be replaced with new ones. Rusted and old.

Chimney needs repair work

The flashing is going to have to be removed and, once the new roof is installed, fully replaced with new metal flashing.

Checking gutters

This was a great time to recommend gutter guards to keep out the falling debris. Replacing the gutters while taking care of the roof makes the most sense.
