Roof Replacement Photo Album: Asphalt Shingle Reaplcement in Moorhead, MN | IKO Dynasty Shingles

Alyssa had started to notice that the old shingle roof on her Moorhead home was no longer protecting the house the way it should. The shingles were worn, there were weak spots around the roof, and the chimney flashing had begun to fail. After inspecting the roof, Vita Roofing recommended a full replacement. Before work began, the crew carefully laid out tarps around the property to protect the landscaping and contain debris. They then removed the entire roofing system down to the decking and inspected the wood underneath. Any soft or rotten decking that was found was replaced to provide a solid base for the new roof.   Once the roof deck was repaired, Vita Roofing installed two rows of Ice and Water barrier along every eave and one row through each valley to help prevent leaks caused by snow and ice. Synthetic underlayment was installed across the rest of the roof, followed by aluminum drip edge around the perimeter. The crew also installed starter shingles along the eaves and rakes to create a stronger seal and better protection against high winds.   To complete the project, Vita Roofing installed new Class 3 Impact Rated IKO Dynasty shingles with a 10-inch offset pattern. Alyssa chose these shingles because they feature built-in algae resistance, an upgraded tar strip, and an upgraded nailing strip for better performance and durability. The crew also repaired the chimney flashing so every vulnerable area of the roof was sealed properly. By the end of the project, Alyssa’s home had a beautiful new roof that was built to handle Moorhead’s toughest weather conditions.
