For Chuck, performance mattered. His two-story home demanded a roofing system that could handle impact, wind uplift, and extreme seasonal shifts. That’s exactly what Vita Roofing delivered: a carefully engineered system designed for longevity from the decking up. The project began with a full tear-off of the decking, ensuring no hidden issues would compromise the new installation. After inspecting the structure, any compromised sections were replaced with fresh 7/16" OSB sheathing. Ice and water shield was strategically installed along eaves and valleys to prevent water intrusion, while Top Shield synthetic underlayment created a secondary moisture barrier across the remaining roof. A 1-3/4" T-style aluminum drip edge was installed along the perimeter, preventing water from migrating beneath the shingles and protecting the fascia.   The final layer featured IKO Dynasty shingles, Class 3 impact-rated, thicker than standard architectural shingles, and designed with upgraded tar and nailing strips for superior wind performance. Ring shank coil nails increased uplift resistance, while starter strips ensured secure edge sealing. Ventilation was optimized with an OmniRoll ridge vent system, maximizing airflow without bulky vents disrupting the roofline. Hip and ridge shingles with ceramic-coated granules provided UV protection and enhanced durability. With new flashings, pipe boots, chimney removal, and meticulous cleanup, the result was not just a roof replacement; it was a fully integrated protection system built to perform for decades.
