Bernie's Roof Replacement
Challenge
Bernie approached us looking for a full roof replacement. His shingles that were currently on there were around 30 years old... definitely was time for some new ones! After doing a full inspection of the roof we noticed that the roof was a 3/12 pitch. It is definitely on the low sloping side for shingles.
Solution
The solution, when ever we come across a roof that has a slope of 3/12 or 2/12 like Bernie's did. We like to do full coverage ice and water barrier underneath the shingles. This is going to provide the homeowner with the peace of mind that even under the shingles there is a nice solid layer to prevent any damage. In a climate like we experience here in the Midwest with heavy snow falls and the notorious ice damming we like to provide that extra layer of protection. We would rather be prepared for the worse than to do nothing and have issues down the road.
