Homeowner Matthew of Farwell, ND, recently reached out to Vita Roofing after noticing his aging roof could no longer withstand the region’s harsh weather conditions. Following a detailed inspection, our team recommended a complete roof replacement using IKO Dynasty shingles, known for their strength, beauty, and high-performance features. These Class 3 impact-rated shingles come with built-in algae resistance, an upgraded tar and nailing strip, and increased thickness, all designed to provide exceptional durability and long-lasting protection against North Dakota’s wind, hail, and seasonal changes.   Before installation began, the Vita Roofing crew took every precaution to protect Matthew’s property, setting up tarps to safeguard the home’s exterior and landscaping. The existing roofing system was carefully removed down to the decking, which was thoroughly inspected for damage. Any soft or rotten OSB or 1x6 deck boards were replaced to ensure a solid foundation for the new system. Once prepped, we installed Top Shield Ice and Water Shield along all eaves and valleys, followed by Top Shield Synthetic Underlayment across the remaining roof surface. To complete the base layer, aluminum drip edges and Top Shield starter strips were installed for a clean, watertight perimeter.     With the foundation ready, our experts began installing the IKO Dynasty shingles, followed by OmniRoll ridge vents for improved airflow and IKO Hip & Ridge shingles for a finished, weather-resistant look. The hip and ridge shingles feature a durable, asphalt-coated glass base with ceramic granules that protect against UV damage, ensuring longevity and performance. After meticulous flashing and vent installations, the Vita Roofing team completed a detailed cleanup, leaving Matthew’s property spotless.
