Photo Album: Hardwood, ND Metal roof Installation | Residential Roofing
Living in Harwood, North Dakota means dealing with unpredictable storms, and Marcus had experienced more than his fair share. After a particularly rough season left his roof battered and aging, he decided it was time to invest in something stronger. Marcus reached out to the trusted professionals at Vita Roofing to explore replacing his roof with a modern metal system. Because the roof had a steep slope, the Vita Roofing team ensured the estimate reflected the additional safety measures and specialized techniques required for installation.
The project began with the crew evaluating the roof deck and sheathing, the plywood base that supports the entire roof structure. Once prepared, they installed a high-performance underlayment designed to protect against moisture infiltration. At the roof’s edge, eave trim (drip edge) was carefully installed over the underlayment, ensuring water would be directed away from the roofline and into the gutter system. With the foundation layers complete, the team installed seamless metal roofing panels, positioning each panel so the overlap properly covered the underlap for optimal protection from driving rain.
As the project progressed, gable and rake trim were secured along the roof’s edges to seal and protect the sides. Butyl tape was applied to create a weather-tight seal, and foam closure strips were installed with sealant at both the eave and ridge areas to block insects and moisture. The finishing touch was the ridge cap placed along the roof’s peak, giving the roof a polished look while protecting the highest point of the structure. High-strength screws were installed at strategic locations to secure the panels. The result was a strong, streamlined metal roof that gives Marcus peace of mind for years to come.
