Challenge

Ryan has had us out to do some repairs on his roof in the past, after the severe weather we have been having the damage was beyond repair this time. The roof was compromised and exposed and while we wait for insurance to approve the replacement we had to go out and make sure that the roof was shedding water appropriately for the time being.

Solution

Our solution, instead of just using your standard store bought tarps, we went out and used synthetic underlayment to seal up the areas that were damaged. This allowed us to cover the areas and tuck under shingles to make sure that the water was shedding off and not under and of the areas.

As you can see the shingles had been lifted and torn all around the roof. In this image you can see a area in the middle that it was exposed all the way to the decking.

After the synthetic underlayment was install and covering up all the spots shingles were removed and is lapped appropriately so water sheds off the roof and on the tops of shingles not underneath them.
