Top Roofing Services for Moorhead Homeowners

Vita Roofing was called out to a home in Moorhead, MN, for a complete roof estimate after the homeowner, Jaci, noticed some concerning signs of wear. Our team's inspection confirmed hail damage and cracked shingles spread across the roof, damage severe enough that a repair wouldn't hold up long-term. Austin, our roofing specialist, walked Jaci through three different replacement options so she could choose the best fit for her home and budget.

Jaci selected the IKO Dynasty Shingles in Summit Grey, a trusted level 3-rated shingle designed to withstand severe weather, strong winds, and heavy rain, ideal for the Moorhead, MN climate. As part of the project, the team also replaced her old skylight with a new Velux Skylight, improving both curb appeal and natural lighting inside the home. Another successful roof replacement completed by the Vita Roofing team, delivering durable, weather-resistant results Jaci can count on for years to come.

For Moorhead homeowner Jaci, a storm-damaged roof became an opportunity to upgrade the look and durability of her home. Rather than settling for a basic reshingle, Jaci worked with Vita Roofing to select premium materials designed to hold up against future Midwest hail and wind events.

The roof replacement featured IKO Dynasty Summit Grey Class 3 shingles, a top-tier impact-resistant asphalt shingle built for exactly the kind of severe weather that damaged her original roof. Vita Roofing paired the new shingles with Quality Edge drip edge and a matching 2x2 steel gutter apron, both finished in black for a clean, cohesive exterior. To complete the upgrade, the team also installed a brand-new Velux skylight, adding natural light without compromising the roof's weatherproofing.

Every detail of the project, from the ridge cap installation on all hips and ridges to the full tear-off and haul-away of old roofing debris, was handled by Vita Roofing's crew with a focus on both craftsmanship and curb appeal. The result is a roof replacement that not only performs better in Moorhead's unpredictable weather but also visibly elevates the home's exterior.

Sarah knew her aging roof in Moorhead, MN had reached the end of its lifespan after noticing curling shingles and signs of storm wear. Vita Roofing responded with a winter-season assessment, taking the time to evaluate the roof’s condition despite limited visibility from snow cover. Their experienced team documented damage, checked for ventilation and moisture concerns, and created a clear plan for a full asphalt shingle roof replacement once conditions allowed for safe access.

When temperatures rose and the snow cleared, the crew began by laying tarps to protect Sarah’s property and keep the job site clean. They removed the existing roofing system down to the decking, inspecting it carefully and replacing any weakened or rotted sections to ensure a strong base. The installation followed a proven system: two rows of ice and water shield along the eaves and one in the valleys, synthetic underlayment across the remaining surface, aluminum drip edge along the perimeter, and starter shingles at all rakes and eaves. The project was completed with IKO Dynasty Class-3 asphalt shingles, providing enhanced durability and impact resistance. The finished roof delivered both a refreshed appearance and a reliable, weather-ready system built to perform through Moorhead’s toughest seasons.

When Alyssa began noticing missing shingles, dark streaks, and leaks around her chimney, she contacted Vita Roofing for help. After inspecting the roof, the team found that the old shingle roof had reached the end of its lifespan and recommended a full replacement. Before starting the project, the crew carefully placed tarps around the property to protect Alyssa’s landscaping and contain debris. They then removed the old roofing system down to the decking and inspected the wood underneath. Any soft or rotten decking that was discovered was replaced to create a solid foundation for the new roof.

With the roof deck repaired, Vita Roofing installed two rows of Ice and Water barrier along the eaves and one row through each valley to protect against moisture and ice dams. Synthetic underlayment was installed across the rest of the roof, followed by aluminum drip edge around the perimeter. The crew then added starter shingles along all eaves and rakes before installing the new Class 3 Impact Rated IKO Dynasty shingles with a 10-inch offset pattern.

Alyssa chose IKO Dynasty shingles because they offer built-in algae resistance, an upgraded tar strip, and an upgraded nailing strip for added strength and durability. Vita Roofing also repaired the chimney flashing to stop water from entering around the chimney. By the time the project was complete, Alyssa’s Moorhead home had a beautiful new roof that offered both improved curb appeal and long-lasting protection.
