After a full inspection, the professionals recommended a seamless metal roofing panel system designed to handle the region’s demanding climate. Because Marcus’ home had a steep roof pitch, the Vita Roofing team carefully factored that into the estimate and installation plan to ensure both safety and precision during the project.
The installation began with a close inspection of the roof deck and sheathing, the plywood structure that forms the foundation of the roofing system. Once confirmed to be structurally sound, the crew installed a high-quality synthetic underlayment to act as a moisture barrier. Next came the eave trim, also known as drip edge, which was installed at the lowest edge of the roof over the underlayment to guide rainwater safely toward the gutters. With the base layers secured, the team installed the seamless metal roofing panels, carefully overlapping each panel so the underlap sat beneath the overlap side to maximize water resistance.
To complete the system, Vita Roofing installed gable and rake trim along the sides of the roof, sealing the edges with butyl tape for long-term protection. Foam closure strips were applied with sealant at both the eaves and ridge to prevent insects, wind-driven rain, and debris from entering beneath the panels. Finally, the ridge cap was fastened over the peak of the roof, and heavy-duty fasteners were installed strategically to secure the system against North Dakota’s powerful winds. Marcus’ home now features a sleek, durable metal roof built to withstand decades of weather.
